It’s Ironman 70.3 Geelong week, folks!!! (woohoo)
I am so excited to go racing this Sunday. My last race was in November last year (Challenge Shepparton) and this will be my first Ironman branded event.
My preparation for this race was absolutely special because while training for the big day, I shared fantastic training sessions, conversations and moments with my training buddies.
The last few weeks have been exhausting and time consuming for all the athletes racing this event but it was also worth. We became closer to each other.
Unfortunately I had several mechanical issues on my bike last Sunday and could not finish my weekend ride. I could only manage to ride 10km because I faced 4 mechanical issues on my crank set, gears and chain.
Not the best experience to have on the week before your big race
Anyway, as much as I was frustrated, insecure and worried on Sunday, thankfully this happened before my race. The mechanics are now working to get my bike fixed on time! I will surely have a soft ride this Sunday.
One last message to my Geelong team mates: We got this! We are ready! This Sunday we will have fun!
It’s time to take it easy on the sessions and also to keep the engine working.
