Let’s get to know a little more about our 2019/20 Ambassador, Andrea…
Who am I?
Girl, 31, Norwegian, loves training, sometimes hates training, loves chocolate (always), loves being social but can be a bit of a party pooper.
10 random questions to get to know your Ambassador.
- What would be your superpower?
If I could pick one then it would definitely be flying.
- What’s your spirit animal?
A seal
A skiing holiday! In a couple of weeks it will be two years since I last skied, I think that is the longest I have ever gone without skiing, in my whole life. So a week in Japan with lots of powder and skiing is on the top of my list at the moment.
- Who is your favorite author?
Loved reading Harry Potter when I grew up, and I am still a big fan of the books. And I really like the Robert Galbraith crime novels so the answer would have to be Joanne Rowling.
- How long does it take you to get ready in the morning?
About 5min before an early morning swim. Involves nothing more than putting clothes on and walking out the door.
- How many languages do you speak?
2.3 maybe? Norwegian, English and a little bit of French
- What makes you laugh the most?
At the moment: memes about Australians and their love for toilet paper.
- Which of your scars has the best story?
If you want to hear how not to ride a bike, ask me about the scar on my elbow…
- What do you regret not doing or starting when you were younger?
Swimming, Road cycling… Triathlon!
I have never had a real nickname (very un-Australian). The closest I have gotten was a couple of years back when I took up sailing and fell off the boat a few times too many, leading to “BadeAndrea” (or BathingAndrea) which then became my Instagram nick.
…and 3 not so random questions
- What is it about triathlons that interested you?
My mom was an elite triathlete (until she got pregnant with me) and I’ve always wanted to try triathlon but never really got around to it. Then when my partner and I decided to move to Melbourne a year ago it seemed like the perfect time to swim-bike-run.
- How did you get to Tri-Alliance?
I sent Ollie an email before leaving Norway and joined TA after a week in Australia and I haven’t looked back. The TA-family has definitely been the best part of moving to the other side of the world.
- What are your triathlon goals?
Having fun, learning and getting better in all aspects of the sport, going to the 2021 AG Worlds in Bermuda, and maybe doing some coaching once I move back to Norway.
