Those of you may have read in the recent Shepparton 70.3 eNews that Tri Alliance was the 2nd place getters in the Club Prize at the recently held race. For your efforts in supporting and generally being awesome we have won a large cooler esky. They have told us those that it has been emptied of the Corna’s that is WAS full with! Sorry guys, empty esky it is! 🙂

AUSTRALIAN UNIVERSITY CHAMPIONSHIPS
Emma Oliver Race Report
Here’s an account of Emma’s race on the weekend at the Australia University Championships – wonder what ‘would have been’ if she didn’t make some costly mistakes? We now know what ‘not to do’!
I almost missed the start, so no warm up unfortunately, and I also missed the race briefing which I really regret now. My swim leg was a bit dismal, I came out pretty much last and my time was just over 23 minutes. My bike leg was really good for me, I made up a lot of ground, except I accidentally went a kilometer and a half off course, which is the stupidest thing I’ve ever done in a race, so that took my bike time up to 1 hour 13 minutes and then I got lost in transition and couldn’t find the run exit. I still don’t know what my run time was cos I forgot to take my garmin off the bike going into the run but I know I overtook a fair few girls who were ahead of me before that.
It was a really hot, humid day and the run course was also very hilly so it was a bit of a struggle, but the good thing for me was lots of people were dropping out on it and walking.
It still felt like a slow run to me though, compared to what I’ve done in training.
Overall I came 8th in the Australian Uni Championships which was an open field of maybe 50 girls, not sure how I did in my age group, somewhere in the top 10. And now, depending on how many athletes Australia decide to send over, I may qualify for the university world championships. Overall I’m just happy to have actually done an Olympic distance race, I really enjoyed it despite all the issues on course and I definitely won’t make all those mistakes again next time!
Em

It will add a good spike to your training (similar to our training camps) before you have a few days off over New Year and be ready and raring to go in 2013!
Click here to read details from LAST YEAR and stay tuned for full details about this years training coming out in December!
