WORD FROM THE COACHES
Last weekend saw 45 athletes, 4 Tri Alliance coaches & 1 very excited VIS coach make the journey to Apollo Bay. It was once again a very challenging and rewarding camp for all who participated. Find out how one of our very own athletes inspired Jarrod Evans who has seen it all in his many years of coaching in our camp wrap up.
6 weeks and counting to arguably our favourite race of the year “NOOSA BABY”. This also means we must be returning to Thursday nights at Elwood, Run, Ride, Swims!!!
Our new Summer Program will be out in the next couple of days – so keep an eye out on Facebook and our Training Timetable for full details. (Now let’s hope that summer comes early this year!) New programs for the month of October are also getting their final touches so keep an eye out for an email outlining changes to the program and our new training phase.

WORD FROM AMERICA
Lots happening behind the scenes as we prepare for the upcoming season and its going to be another jam packed year of races, races and more races. Kicking off with Kona in just 2.5 weeks, Port MacQuarie Half in 4.5 weeks, then quickly followed by Noosa, Shepparton, Busselton, Canberra and the start of the Gatorade Series. We have received results from time trials last week and well done to all those who clocked a PB. And some big ones at that! All reports also indicate out Pre Season Camp was a hit – minus the weather and magpies on Sunday. Well done to everyone on pushing trough the barriers and finding new limits.
Good luck to those having a hit out at Hazelwood this weekend in the Sprint or Olympic Distance races. Our World Athletes will use this as a great practice run for their big one in a few weeks and a number of other athletes are heading down the road to get in their wetsuits for the first time and have a hit out on their time trial bikes. Enjoy the race.
Our Queensland Squad is starting to take shape now, with their new QLD TA TAJ on full show on the weekend at the Moretan Bay Tri, and with their first race if the Queensland Gatorade Series next weekend is set to be a big one! You can check out pics from their launch here and their new TA TAJ here.
For us we finish our last week in Lake Tahoe and make our way to Kona via San Francisco on Saturday in time for 2 weeks to acclimatise, taper and soak up the atmosphere. Looking forward to catching up with other athletes including Marina, and also Jay, Tim and Nola who are coming over as cheer squad. It’s going to be fantastic.
Keep up the great work everyone, not long until the season so make sure the Winter training is put to good use.

PRE SEASON CAMP WRAP UP
The final Tri Alliance training camp for 2012 was held over the weekend of 22-23rd of September with 45 brave athletes venturing down the Great Ocean Rd to Apollo Bay. An epic weekend of training and events was planned and to our delight there were signs of spring weather ahead. We were lucky enough to have Level 3 Triathlon and VIS assistant coach Jarrod Evans heading up the camp in which he provided some great insight into high performance coaching and training.

TUESDAY NIGHT WINDTRAINER – NEW MSAC PROCEDURES
MSAC has approached us in concern that some of our athletes are not entering the facility correctly during our Swim and Wind Trainer sessions. MSAC is a fantastic facility and we are very fortunate to have a strong ongoing relationship with the centre.
We would ask all athletes to take the following into consideration:
- All Tri Alliance athletes attending sessions at MSAC MUST be a member of the Melbourne Sports Hub
- All Tri Alliance athletes MUST present their membership to one of the membership services points upon arrival
Either the Main Foyer Desk (downstairs) or the Wellness Zone Desk (if entering via level 3 for Tuesday Wind Trainer sessions)
For Swim sessions, simply swipe your card at either the front or rear reception desk.
For WINDTRAINER SESSIONS – PLEASE REFER TO NEW PROCEDURE BELOW:
1. A ‘ticket’ will be given to you once you present your membership card at either of the desks outlined above
2. The ‘ticket’ must be presented to the Melbourne Sports Hub staff member at the Level 2 door (for entry to the Indoor Pool Running Track area where we hold our session)
3. The door will be manned between 5:45pm and 6:30pm on Tuesday nights
4. No ticket – no entry!
