SHORT COURSE RIDE
Session Overview:
Winter is where the engine gets built. Through the colder months the Saturday Short Course Ride is all about aerobic base, strength-endurance and consistency on the bike — the foundation that carries you into the harder, faster work as the season warms up. We roll a steady road ride along Beach Road: controlled pacing, durability and efficient riding technique, not speed. Open to all athlete levels (must be a current Tri-Alliance member). Check your training program for the week’s distance and stay updated via the newsletter or by speaking with your coach.
What to Bring:
- Nutrition and hydration appropriate for the conditions.
- Front and rear lights — essential in low winter light.
- Spare tubes, tools, and a pump or CO2.
- Money and a mobile phone for emergencies.
- Tri-Alliance riding gear (mandatory for squad safety and team spirit).
Schedule:
- Meet at Elwood Beach for a 7:00am departure.
- Ride in your ability group and follow the programmed distance.
- Route options: Mordialloc / Station St / Frankston / Safety Beach.
- Check programs for distances and the newsletter for any changes, or speak with your coach.
Important Notes:
- You MUST check in for this session so everyone is accounted for.
- Dress for winter conditions — layer up to stay warm, dry and safe.
- You’re responsible for your personal belongings throughout the session.
- We’re not chasing speed yet — we’re building the engine. Ride smart, stay safe, and represent the squad with pride!
