Get Race-Ready in Just 6 Weeks!
Train with Tri Alliance in our six-week Try the Tri beginner program, starting Saturday 31 October 2026 and building you up to 2XU Triathlon Series Race 1 at Elwood on 6 December 2026.
Whether you are brand new to the sport or coming back for another go, this is where you build fitness, learn the skills and train in a fun, inclusive group.
What you will gain

Your program includes 5 coached sessions every week
- Tuesday 6:00–7:00am — Run, Albert Park Lake
- Tuesday 6:15–7:30pm — Indoor Bike, MSAC
- Thursday 6:30–8:00pm — Combo (swim, bike & run), Elwood Beach
- Saturday 9:30–11:00am — Combo (swim, bike & run), Elwood Beach
- Sunday 7:00am Long Swim & 8:00am Long Run — optional, for those feeling confident (Sunday can also be your recovery day)

What are the session times and locations?+
We offer a variety of sessions to help you build fitness, skills and confidence across swim, bike and run:
TUESDAY
🕕 6.00am – 7.00am: Run – Albert Park Lake
🕕 6.15pm – 7.30pm: Indoor Bike – MSAC
THURSDAY
🕡 6.30pm – 8.00pm: Combo (Swim + Bike + Run) – Elwood Beach
SATURDAY
🕤 9.30am – 11.00am: Combo (Swim + Bike + Run) – Elwood Beach
SUNDAY
🕖 7.00am: Long Swim – Elwood Beach
🕗 8.00am: Long Run – Elwood Beach
Sunday sessions are optional and sit over and above the Try the Tri program. They are for confident, competent and more advanced athletes only, and you must get approval from your Try the Tri coach before attending.
Need a rest? Sunday can also be your Active Recovery / Day Off.
What gear do I need?+
You don’t need expensive equipment to get started - we promise!
Here’s all you need to begin:
🏊 SWIM: Goggles and swimmers (wetsuit optional)
🚴 BIKE: Helmet + any bike that’s road-safe (yes, any)
🏃 RUN: Runners + comfy activewear
